friendsgiving recipes: a collection

friendsgiving recipes: a collection | for the love of design

every year since my senior year of college my girlfriends and i have gathered the thursday before thanksgiving for our very own celebration i like to call friendsgiving. we each bring a dish or two to share, which makes it not so stressful for the hostess and is also a fun way to try recipes from different family traditions.

we keep things pretty casual and try to have a few non-traditional thanksgiving foods so that we are still excited for the actual holiday meal in the upcoming week. i’m the designated deviled egg girl, but i also like to bring something fun and unexpected. tonight i’m bringing mini baked brie bites which will go fabulously with the many bottles of wine that are bound to be consumed before the actual meal.

so friendsgiving is kind of the best fake holiday ever. here are some simple recipes that would be fun for your own friendsgiving meal:

1 // glazed squash
2 // sweet potato and honey dinner rolls
3 // pumpkin spice donuts with cinnamon butter glaze
4 // maple cinnamon applesauce

i’ve never met a pumpkin recipe i didn’t like. put it in donut form and that takes things to a whole new level of happiness!
